John Clifford Edge, 62, of East Ridge, passed away peacefully on the morning at Saturday Nov. 7” 2009.  John was born in Chattanooga to John and Louise Edge. He attended Central High School where he excelled in sports and was a leader on the football field and a friend to many.  Never one to accept the ordinary, John lived an adventurous life, living in many different states and experiencing the beauty of America.  He was recently compelled to return to Chattanooga to be close to his young grandson, who was the light of his life.
John was a strong spirit who lived life according to his own terms.  He was surrounded by his large and adoring family who is grieving his passing.  John was an avid fan of Tennessee Vols Football and enjoyed watching games with his son and friends.  John was an All City Football player from Central High School and state wrestling champ at University of Tennessee.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Louise Edge and is survived by; his son John Nicholas (Jenni) Edge; daughter Heather Carmen (Mark) Frazer; grandson Roman Edge Frazer; farmer wife Pat Horton Edge Jarvis; sisters; Charlotte (Jay) Paty, Dee (Mickey) Hawkins. Priscilla
(Sam) Thail and Brenda Edge Binkley; and former father-in-law William W (Bill) Horton.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony is planned for Tuesday November 10, 2009. Please contact Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, 601 Ashland Terrace for specific details.
