Yesterday I asked Mike for an update, and he provided the following:

"I was working on getting an e-mail to you soon.  I've been trying to get a few corners turned first.  The corner turning is slower than I had hoped.  On 1/18 I had a kidney removed.  It was done lapriscopically so the incisions are not too large.  But post recovery has gone slow for a variety of reasons.  Will meet w/surgeon on 2/25 and get a feel for what's ahead.  Lots of tests, I'm sure.  I talked to so many people at the reunion, I thought an update on my situation would be timely."

"Today has been my best day post surgery, so far.  I feel like I'm in a maze.  Every time I thought I had turned a corner, ..........."
