Emmalene Johnson, 85, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009.

She lived several years at John Calvin Apartments in Hixson until moving to Dade Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton GA. She was a loving mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and gospel music.  She was a member of Lupton Road Baptist Church in Hixson.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jeff Johnson; parents A. J. and Cora Sharpton; brothers J. P. Sharpton, Marsell Sharpton and Bill Sharpton; grandson Roger Johnson.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Kathi Johnson; R. D. and Faye Johnson; brothers John D., Herbert, and Rev. Wendell Sharpton; six grandchildren Chris, Stacy, Dusty, Andrew, and Katee Johnson, and Tanya Caldwell; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends.

Funeral services were held 1 p.m. EDT Friday in the Trenton Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Sharpton officiating.

Interment followed in Lakewood Memory Gardens West in Tiftonia.
