Hearing the news of Max' passing was almost more than I could bear because Max was so kind to us all.  I was never sick a day in my life recently that Max did not call to check on me.

I was so happy that during the last reunion I got a chance to talk with Max.  That Friday night I had slipped inside the enclosure to wrap an ace bandage on my swollen foot and Max stepped in to ask if he could help with the clean-up.   I assured him that it would all be there tomorrow and thanked him for the delicious grilled chicken.  We talked about many things but in the end before we parted I told him how much I loved him and all my classmates and how much these meetings meant to me.  He said that he would second that I will never forget as he got up and turned to go back outside, he looked at me and said, "Hey, if you ever need anything and I mean anything at any hour, you just call me."  Funny how we can remember exact words when we loose someone so precious as Max.  I am glad that we never had a cross word between us which is something I really strive for as I get older.

Max will never be forgotten but will leave a mark on my heart that I will take with me each day.

God bless Max and his family.
