Class of 1965 Blog

I was curious to know more about our beloved Miss Mildred Major, so I asked several classmates about what they knew.  None of them were able to provide any information, so I researched and found the following obituary:

Mildred Major

CHICKAMAUGA -- Mildred Major, 90, died Saturday February 5, 2005.  She was a member of the Chickamauga Church of Christ.

Miss Major was a retired school teacher with 42 years of service, including 20 years at Central High School in Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by Harvey Carlock.  Survivors include Julia Carlock, June Carlock McCollum, Danny Douglas, and David Carlock, all of Chickamauga, Katherine Vickers, Birmingham, AL, and Ella Owens Reed and Talyne Gregg, both of Murfreesboro, TN.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., today, February 7th, at Chickamauga City Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.
